Signs you have a hidden leak

  • Water bill or well pump runtime up with no change in usage
  • The pump cycles on when nobody is using water — a strong indicator on a well system
  • Damp spots, staining or bubbling paint on walls, ceilings or floors
  • A warm spot on a floor, which often means a hot line leaking below
  • Musty smell, or mold appearing in one particular area
  • Sound of running water when everything is shut off
  • An unexplained wet or unusually green patch in the yard along the water line run

What we do

Leak location

We find it before anyone cuts. Pressure testing, acoustic listening, and isolating sections of the system to narrow it down — so the repair opens one spot instead of five.

Frozen and burst pipes

A winter staple in this county. Crawl spaces, unheated basements, well houses and long buried runs all freeze. We thaw, repair and then tell you plainly what to insulate or reroute so it doesn't happen again next January.

Underground and service line leaks

The run from the well or the meter to the house. Often the last place people look and frequently where the loss actually is.

Pipe repair and repiping

Copper, PEX and CPVC. Section repairs where that's the sensible answer, full repipes where the pipe is at the end of its life. Older homes here often have galvanized steel that has scaled nearly shut — that shows up as poor pressure everywhere and doesn't get better.

Winterizing, because it's cheaper than the repair

If you have a seasonal cabin, a hunting camp, a rental or a second home around Snowshoe, Slatyfork or the Greenbrier Valley, we'll winterize it properly — drain down, blow the lines, antifreeze the traps — and open it back up in spring. A burst line in an empty house that nobody finds for three weeks is a different category of problem.
